In July, Order of Omega Headquarters collaborated with Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity at their 67th General Convention in Dallas, Texas to help run a Case Study Competition for undergraduate members of the fraternity.
Teams made up of two Phi Sigma Kappa members received a case study which contained several incidents (lifted from documented incidents that have happened at real schools) at a fictitious college campus. The members came up with strategies for dealing with the incidents and presented their solutions to a panel of judges. The teams were judged on their verbal communication, logic of ideas/opinions, interpretation/knowledge of policies, knowledge of legal concerns/liabilities, use of campus resources, and the overall effectiveness of their solutions.
The teams were placed into two tracks where 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were selected from each track. (1st place: $500, 2nd place: 300, 3rd place: 200)
Congratulations to the winners!
If your Inter/National fraternal organization is interested in having a Case Study Competition during its convention/conclave/conference, please let us know!
