2010 Scholarships & Fellowships
Fellowship & Scholarship Awards

The Order of Omega announces that application materials are now available for the Graduate Fellowship and Undergraduate Scholarship Awards! Since 1985, The Order of Omega has awarded $721,850 in undergraduate scholarships and $126,500 in graduate fellowships.

The Order of Omega sponsors three (3) graduate Fellowship Awards including the $1,000 Doctoral Fellowship Award, $750 Jacque Placette Chapman Master's Fellowship Award, and $500 William J. Brennan Graduate Assistant Fellowship Award(s). Fellowship applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program in Higher Education/Student Personnel and employed full-time or part-time advising Greek Life/Order of Omega. Fellowship applications must be submitted by Friday, November 5, 2010.

The Order of Omega sponsors $750, $500, and $300 undergraduate Scholarship Awards in the names of our current and past Executive Directors, Dr. Kent L. Gardner, Patrick W. Halloran, and Parker F. Enright.  In addition, Order of Omega offers one Founders Award scholarship in the amount of $1,000 and a new Anniversary Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. Scholarship applicants must be juniors or seniors displaying leadership and service to their Order of Omega chapter, Greek system, and Campus Life. Scholarship applications must be completed online by Friday, November 12, 2010.

Fellowship and Scholarship application materials (e.g., cover letter, resume, recommendations, transcript, and photograph) should be sent to The Order of Omega, Attention: Fellowship or Scholarship Committee, 300 E. Border St, Arlington, Texas, 76010 or emailed to hq@orderofomega.org. Refer questions via e-mail to Ms Reatha Cox, Vice President, Order of Omega.

Fellowship Award recipients will be announced at The Order of Omega Recognition Reception in conjunction with the AFA annual meeting in Phoenix, AZ.
Scholarship Award recipients will be notified on or before December 24, 2010.

2010 SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

Applications are now being accepted for the Order of Omega Scholarships.
Each chapter may nominate two (2) members for consideration.

Scholarship Awards

Scholarship Application Criteria, Qualifications, & Procedures

  • Applicants will be judged on their contribution to Order of Omega, Fraternity/Sorority, Greek community, and campus community.
  • Applicants must be nominated by their respective Order of Omega chapter, and the chapter must be in good standing with Order of Omega Headquarters.
  • To apply, applicants must:
    • Complete the on-line application
    • Submit a letter of recommendation/verification from their Greek Advisor, a copy of their official or unofficial undergraduate transcript, and a photograph via e-mail in jpeg or gif format to scholarship@orderofomega.org.
Scholarship Applications and all recommendation letters, transcripts, and photographs must be submitted no later than Friday, November 12, 2010 to:

2010 Fellowship Criteria

On-line 2010 Fellowship Application

William J. Brennan Graduate Assistant Fellowships ($500)

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited master's degree program in higher education, student personnel, or related field.
  • Applicant must be currently employed part-time or a graduate assistant with direct or indirect responsibility for advising Greek Life and/or Order of Omega.
  • Applicant must be currently employed and enrolled at a college/university with an Order of Omega chapter in good standing with Headquarters.

Jacque Placette Chapman Master's Fellowships ($750)

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited master's degree program in higher education, student personnel, or related field.
  • Applicant must be employed full-time with direct responsibility for advising Greek Life and/or Order of Omega
  • Applicant must be currently employed and enrolled at a college/university with an Order of Omega chapter in good standing with  Headquarters.

Doctoral Fellowships ($1,000)

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled full-time or part-time in an accredited doctoral degree program in higher education, student personnel, or related field.
  • Applicant must be currently employed full-time or part-time or graduate assistant with current direct and/or previous direct responsibilities for advising Greek Life and/or Order of Omega.
  • Applicant must be currently employed and enrolled at a college/university or previously employed at a college/university with an Order of Omega chapter in good standing with Headquarters.

Fellowship Procedures


Applicant must submit:
  • On-line Fellowship Application
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation from the current (or previous) college/university supervisor and current college/university graduate advisor.
  • Verification of current graduate enrollment for fall semester/term 2010 and previous graduate coursework completed (e.g., official or unofficial graduate transcript).
  • Photograph of applicant only e-mailed to fellowship@orderofomega.org in jpeg or gif format.

Fellowship Applications must be submitted no later than Friday, November 5, 2010.
