Chapter LEAD Grant

The Order of Omega L.E.A.D. Grant (Leadership Education Advancing Development) empowers active Order of Omega chapters to bring high-impact leadership programming to their campus fraternity and sorority community by supplementing financial support to chapter-sponsored community programs. Eligible chapters can receive up to $1,500 to fund speakers, facilitators, and trainings that promote values-driven leadership, ethical decision-making, and cross-community collaboration.

Order of Omega International Headquarters encourages chapters to work with their campus fraternity and sorority life office and/or speakers bureaus and facilitators to bring leadership development and educational programming to the chapter and fraternal community.

Funding is limited and awarded as applications are received and reviewed.

At a Glance

  • Award amount: up to $1,500 per eligible chapter.
  • Frequency: each eligible chapter may receive one LEAD Grant per fiscal year.
  • Eligibility: limited to active chapters in good standing with the International Organization, current with reporting, initiation fee submission, and organizational governance policies.
  • Availability: grant funding is subject to annual budget approval and availability of funds.
  • Fund Usage: funds may be applied toward fees and expenses directly related to leadership development programming, including:  Speaker or facilitator fees, Facility rental, Travel expenses for the speaker or facilitator
  • Selection:  Order of Omega will review applications to determine award based on fund availability, program proposal, and alignment with Order of Omega grant guidelines.

Grant Guidelines

In general, grant awards will not support full funding of any program. Applicants must demonstrate efforts to secure funding beyond this grant program.  Exceptions can be made to this on a case-by-case basis.

  • Order of Omega gives priority to proposals that demonstrate clear alignment with the Order’s Twelve Tenets and a leadership development focus
  • Preference for programs held on campus
  • Substance-free programming
  • Clear, detailed, well-written applications
  • Sound financial planning and a realistic budget
  • Collaboration across chapters and campus organizations
  • Creativity, involving new programming brought to the chapter of fraternity and sorority life campus community. 
  • Chapters are encouraged to work with their campus communities and popular speakers and speaker groups for leadership training and facilitation. 
  • Funding will not be awarded for programs:
    • in which there is intent to make a profit (i.e., charging excess admission fees).
    • in which money is donated to charitable causes or individual organizations (i.e., fundraisers, sorority philanthropy, etc.).
    • in which the event has already occurred (no retroactive funding).
  • A program evaluation MUST be completed and returned to Headquarters with program documentation within thirty days of program completion.
  • Applications must be submitted at least four weeks before your program date to allow for evaluation and awarding of funds.

  • Applications are open on a rolling basis while funds are available for the current year.
  • Applications should be submitted at least four weeks prior to the program date. 
  • Notification of funding approval will be within two weeks of receipt of the application. Approved grant funds are awarded via check made payable to the Order of Omega chapter, sent through the campus Fraternity and Sorority Life office to support leadership development programming.
  • Following your program, grant recipients should submit an evaluation and follow-up from the program, including:  Attendance data, summary of learning outcomes, evaluation results, 1-2 paragraph impact narrative, photos or social media posts.
