Student Board Members

The Student Board Member position entails the selection of a current undergraduate member of Order of Omega to serve on Order of Omega’s Board of Directors for one academic year. The Student Board Member, in essence, serves as a voice for Order of Omega’s undergraduate membership. Order of Omega accepts applications for Student Board Member every April, and the selected student’s term officially begins that July.

Antonio Ramirez Salcedo has been selected as the 2024-2025 Order of Omega Student Board Member. Antonio is a senior Medical Laboratory Sciences major at Texas Tech University.

Antonio hails from Leander, Texas, and is a member of Delta Alpha Omega Multicultural Fraternity, Inc., and is the current chapter president of the Order of Omega chapter at Texas Tech University (Delta Chi).

Antonio is heavily involved on campus in several leadership roles, including being a Student Ambassador, an officer in the Model United Nations Club, and a Golden Key International Honour Society member. While a member of the Texas Tech Fraternity/Sorority community, Antonio is a multi-year recipient of the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) Fraternity Member of the Year award.

Qualifications & Duties

The position of Student Member of The Order of Omega Board of Directors requires that the person selected:

Be aware of the current issues, problems and concerns facing the Fraternity/Sorority community across the country

Be able to speak for, and represent a cross-section of the student members of Order of Omega

Be mature in attitude and judgement

Hold a semesterly virtual Presidents’ Roundtable

Be able to attend the Summer Board Meeting following selection to the position, as well as the summer meeting concluding their year of service (July 2024) — [All expenses for these meetings will be covered by Order of Omega]

Assist with social media initiatives

Orient/train the next student selected to this position

Member Qualifications include:

Be an undergraduate in good standing with their institution during the term of office

Be active member of and be involved in the Order of Omega chapter of their campus

Be an exemplary student with proven academic success

Be supported by the Fraternity/Sorority Life Professional on their campus
